(Flame of Recca) Character 7:
KAGERO / KAGEHOUSHI
Kagero, also known as Kage Houshi, is Recca's biological mother from 400 years before present time. She was the second wife of the Hokage Clan leader Ohka, and had Recca with him. When the battle with Oda Nobunaga arose, she ignored the advice and used the spell that could open the time warp to send Recca to a different time span, where it would hopefully be peaceful. The outcome of using the magic spell is that she can never die but has to live forever and to suffer the pain of losing the people she loves.
She has walked the world for more than 400 years, in search of Recca. Part of the curse was that she could not touch Recca, nor can he touch her. Finally, she approaches Recca in the form of enemy and gives Fukko and Domon their madougu. She wanted to test him to see if he could handle the battle, and that's also the reason she manipulated Fuuko and Tokiya into fighting him.
Even though she first comes off as cold, she later becomes totally different and somewhat motherly after Recca finds out the real story of his past. And though at first he didn't want to accept it, Recca quickly gave in and they established a non-touching mother and son relationship.
